Will there be a human Antichrist ruler?

So many believe there is a frightful human Antichrist coming to rule the world. But is that true? There's no mention of such a person in Revelation. He doesn't exist!

There is only one world ruler named in Revelation, and it is not Satan!

I honestly don't understand how those who say they have read the Book of Revelation can push the false theory of an Antichrist world ruler. How can they possibly miss the most definitive statement about the identity of the ruler over the kings of the earth stated plainly in the first chapter. The ruler pointed out and named is Jesus Christ.

Grace and peace to you from…Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. (Rev.1:5)

Surely that is clear enough?

Revelation teaches over and over again that Jesus Christ is already King of kings, Lord of lords and ruler over all the kings of the earth. Meanwhile, despite what Scripture says, wolves in sheep’s clothing insist Satan’s Antichrist is going to (one day) suddenly appear in human form and become ruler over all the kings of the earth.

So which should we believe; the word of God or ever-changing end-time theories?

Revelation makes it abundantly clear, over and over again, that Jesus Christ is ruling and reigning over this world and will continue to reign forever and ever.

The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign forever and ever. (Rev.11:15)

How can those who say they love Christ deny his Lordship?

How can any of us say, with one breath, that Jesus is King over all kings, and Lord over all lords, and then in the next breath, stand in Satan’s camp, opposite to Christ (anti-Christ), and agree with Satan that he, through a single Antichrist figure, will rule over all the kings of the earth in an end-time One-world Government?

So where did the false ‘ruler’ concept come from?

He will set up the abomination that causes desolation. With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the Covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him. (Dan.11:30-35)

False teachers who push the doctrine of a human Antichrist ruling the world use the prophecy of Daniel (above) to ‘prove’ their case.

They say the Antichrist will set itself up in the new temple of God in the current city of Jerusalem and use its power to destroy true worship.

They say the Catholic Pope will be the Antichrist because the prophecy of Daniel refers to the power of the Roman Empire.

Does it prove their case? No! The abomination has already been manifested!

It’s true that Scripture said ‘an abomination’ would set itself up in the Temple of Jerusalem, for this was prophesied by Daniel in the Old Testament. True! True! True! The problem is that prophecy was fulfilled nearly 2000 years ago!

The appearance of the abomination was fully manifested in Jerusalem in Jesus’ day, which is why Jesus advised his disciples to flee when they saw the abomination appear.

Did his disciples see the abomination that causes desolation? Yes, they did! Did they flee? Yes, they did! So what did they see?

The abomination at work!

The orders for the death of Christ came from the highest authority ruling over God’s people within God’s (re-built) temple in Jerusalem.

Further, it was only because the Holy Land was governed by Rome that Christ could fulfill Scripture by dying on a cross; for crucifixion was a torture invented by the Romans.

These three separate, but combined circumstances completely fulfilled the prophecy of Daniel in Jesus’ time. It was clearly the abomination ruling in God’s rebuilt temple in Jerusalem, under Roman authority, that put Christ himself to death.

A powerful delusion!

The role of Satan in the end-times is to create an powerful delusion, a lie, so believable it will deceive even the elect. Has that happened? Yes!

The most powerful delusion ever let loose on the body of Christ is the lie that Satan has replaced Christ as ruler over all the kings of the earth. What blasphemy!

Those who believe this lie and enter into its delusion will be condemned by God for rejecting the truth himself. Jesus is the truth.

They perished because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. (2 Thes.2:10-11)

The role and great privilege of believers, is to love, worship and serve God and Christ with undivided hearts. The simple truth is, Jesus Christ is and will always be, King of kings, Lord of lords, and ruler over all the kings of the earth. There is no other!

We either believe Christ is ruler of the nations, or

We believe the blasphemous lie spread by Satan that he is ruler...

We can’t believe both!

The real anti-Christ is active and thriving in his goal to deceive the elect, and has been for 2000 years. His biggest lie is that he will come in the future, as a man. Not true! The truth is, he is a spirit, not a man.

The Apostle John, who wrote Revelation, warned his disciples about the antichrist spirit. "Children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. This is how we know it is the last hour. " (1 John 2:18)

This is the truth, written by the same man who wrote the Book of Revelation. He warned in revelation that we would recognise the beastly 'spirit' of antichrist by the way he is worshipped. (Rev.13:4)
